The village

The village of Rivedoux-Plage in the Ile de Ré.

Rivedoux-plage is a commune in south-west France. It is located in the department of Charente-Maritime (17), between Saint-Marie-de-Ré and La Flotte on the Ile de Ré. It is a small town with a port, close to the coast bordered by the Breton and Antioche channels, opposite La Rochelle, 3km from the bridge. The village is composed of 2302 year-round inhabitants called Rivedousais and Rivedousaises.

    During your holidays at Camping Les Fougères *** in Rivedoux-Plage, between land and sea, come and discover the Ile de Ré, observing the flora and fauna. Surround by two sandy beaches, the North Beach and the South Beach. Come stroll along the promenade of the small fishing port, wander in the flowery alleys, walk the alleys of the market which is held every day in summer ... You will thus be able to soak up this calm and family atmosphere which characterizes so sweetly to live on the island. Rivedoux-Plage, has cultural and artistic events that enliven the village throughout the year to the delight of holidaymakers.

If you like bike rides, Rivedoux-Plage will be an ideal starting point to discover the island with the 100 kilometers of cycle paths that run around the village. Hiking enthusiasts will not be disappointed and can wander along the many surrounding discovery trails. While going towards the point of Chauveau where is the lighthouse (the only lighthouse in the sea of Charente-Maritime), discover the small cliffs, the old fish locks and the foreshore which becomes at low tide the meeting place fishermen on foot.

North Beach - Rivedoux-plage

The north beach offers different activities for young and old, for all tastes and ages. It is a reference for activities related to shore fishing and fishing. You can also stroll between the Pont de Ré and the village of Rivedoux along the entire North Beach. The north beach is suitable for all water and board sports. At the top of the beach, at the entrance to the island, is a kite-surf spot.

Access to dogs is prohibited from June 1 to September 30, for other months access is tolerated.


South Beach - Rivedoux-plage

Long sandy beach, so you can relax in peace, by the sea. Varied, varied and fun activities for a great holiday: nautical activities, shore fishing, beach club for children , walking and cycling. Swimming is always possible, both at high tide and at low tide. The beach is equipped to accommodate people with reduced mobility, thanks to an Escal’à dune access mat, 2 seahorses and 2 Tiralos to get into the water. The beach has a club called "les Moussaillons" which welcomes children between 5 and 11 years old every day, during the season. The beach offers many activities for everyone: beach club, swimming lessons, outdoor activities. 

Beach supervised in July and August. Access to dogs on the beach is prohibited from June 1 to September 30.

For other months access is tolerated.
